• While masturbating, one cannot catch STDs. While the sexual intercourse is definitely connected with not so slight chance of contracting a STD (sexually transmitted disease), it's virtually impossible to catch a STD, if only rudimentary hygiene is adhered to during the process of masturbation.

• Masturbation cannot lead to unwanted pregnancy. Masturbation can in fact be seen as a kind of contraception.

• Masturbation can dangerously easy evolve into something more. It is rather highly possible, that mutually masturbating couple will be rather strongly tempted to proceed further.

• Masturbation lowers sexual tension, helping one to gain at least some control over it.
